We’re getting ready for two of the biggest events in the Blandford calendar!
Pitman’s Removals and Storage Ltd is this year sponsoring both the Teddy Rocks weekend from May 4-6 and the Georgian Fayre on May 7 – both highlights of the year in this area.
Teddy Rocks is an amazing event, organised by friends of mine in memory of their ten-year-old son, who died of bone cancer.
I’ve tried to help out because it’s not only a great fun family event but it raises money for such an important cause.
This year I’ve decided to give a bit of sponsorship to the Georgian Fayre too. I started up as a sole trader 10 years ago but now as an employer of local staff and gaining business from local people referring us I feel it’s only right to get involved.
Teddy Rocks is a three-day festival of music and fun in aid of Teddy20, which supports children with cancer and their families.
The festival, which has gone from a small event raising £400 in 2011 to raising more than £76,000 last year, is held at Charlsworth Farm near Blandford and features a fantastic line-up of live music with family activities and camping.
The Georgian Fayre will be held in the town from 10am-5pm on May 7, and will feature a huge range of stalls, games and activities. They include re-enactments, a large craft area, a farmers’ market, dog agility, classic cars, a model armour exhibition, live music, fun fair, fire juggling, circus skills workshop, a climbing wall, storytelling and more.
